I have an R10 and a Phillips 7000. I'd like to switch the hard drives in these two units (so that the Phillips will have a larger drive when hacked later). Both are running 6.2 unhacked.

Will I be able to switch the drives without any trouble? I haven't opened our Tivos before, so I'd appreciate any advice that you might have concerning doing this.

quick answer is "No". The drives have different software so the can not be moved from one unit to another.

Not witout having to reimage the drives. The drives are set to work with the mainboard.

With the price of hard drives, why not just upgrade the Philips?
