View Full Version : Program not recorded due to lack of Tivo Plus

We missed at least 2 recordings over the past few days. Going to the recording history yields the following message:

This program was not recorded because it was scheduled with a Tivo Plus service feature. To upgrade to Tivo Plus service go to Tivo Central and choose "How to upgrade to Tivo Plus service".

We have a standalone Tivo box with Lifetime service, not a box with Tivo Basic. It's running 7.2.2 of the software. Any ideas what could cause this and how to prevent it from happening again? Thanks!

I had a similar issue a week ago. In fact my entire ToDo list was emptied. You need to call TiVo CS.

Sounds similar to the problem I described here (http://www.tivocommunity.com/tivo-vb/showthread.php?t=302892), except there is no TiVo Plus option on mine, so it just said I didn't have any service.

Was it under similar circumstances for you? As I wrote, my problem went away after I forced a connection twice.

The problem looks like it is worse than I originally thought - all the recordings since last Friday show as duration 0:00 (partial) when we try to play them. Could this be a sign of impending hard drive failure? It is still the original 40-hour drive. I plan on calling CS when I get home from work today as well. Thanks.

This happend to my my credit card that I use to pay for Tivo had expried. I put the new card in tivo central. Did a manual TIVO Connect and it all worked.

It happend on my playroom tivo that I never watch but only use to record overlap programs that I tranfer. So I did not see the message until I went to find something that recorded.

With lifetime TiVo does not use any credit card

FWIW, I rebooted the Tivo before calling support and now it seems to be working fine. One additional symptom of the problem was that Live TV was just showing a black screen, incidentally. You can be sure that we'll keep a close watch on things to see if it happens again. :)
