My tivo wasn't having any problems... I was recording shows to dvd and I put in a new DVD for the next episodes (I wanted to get the shows off tivo but wanted to keep them) and all of a sudden it restarted and said "Welcome! Powering up..." I knew this was inconvenient but assumed it was normal. Then the "Almost there. Just a few minutes more..." screen popped up. Then the green screen of death saying "The DVR has detected a serious problem and is now attempting to fix it" the problem is that it is doing this same cycle over and over again and I am not sure what to do.

Also, is there a way of manually removing the disk (like a button a paperclip could fit into hinding somewhere I dont see)

-Thanks in advance
Danny

I had the exact same thing happen to my TiVo today too. Same model. I was upstairs, we had a power flicker, so I came down to shut down my computer, and the tivo was going thru the throes of a Green Screen of Death. Just when I started to panic (after about an hour of watching the Tivo fight for it's life) it came back on and didnt seem to be having any problems. Until tonight. It didnt record CSI Miami, so I checked the To Do list to see if it was there...and ALL of my Season Passes were claiming they wont be recorded because there are no upcoming episodes. (it also says that someone in my household modified the Season Pass settings...which is bull, because I'm the only one here who actually use the Tivo)

Now I cant get the Tivo to access the Search features to search for a show thru keywords, or the Actor search. I can tell it to record a show, but it still claims that that show isnt scheduled to record (havent tried to record anything yet)

I have a 4yr warranty for my Tivo from Best Buy, so if things dont clear up in a day or two, I'm taking it down to BB and will hook the cable up to my Media Center computer until BB/and or Tivo fix my Tivo unit.

I had a disk in the drive today too, and couldnt figure out how to pop the disk out manually either.

Hopefully someone here knows why our units went bonkers, other than to say it's "a hard drive issue".
