Need Advice, just replaced the Samsung unit which stopped working with remote. Picked up a DirecTV HD DVR HR10-250, just in time to watch the World Cup Games and "WOW", why did I wait this long.
My question, is there anything that I can do with the old Samsung unit? Can it be used for something? Do not want to throw it out.
Ant advice will be helpful.
Thanks

You could still use it to view photos and listen to music from a computer running HMO (Home Media Option). You could also use its MRV function to watch videos from your computer (requires Tivoserver). You can't do anything of real use between the Samsung and the HR10-250, at least not yet. See the Underground forum (or link in my signature) for more information.

Thanks If u dont want to hack it you can sell it for a few bucks on ebay. (just a thought)
Do the buttons on the front of the receiver still work??
If so, I'll take if off your hands for you :)

Take out most of the guts leaving some electric parts, cut out holes in all sides about 4 in in diameter, place some cheese in side plug it in a voila Instant mousetrap! Problem is every time it catches a mouse your lights will go off
