View Full Version : D** Still sending out TIVO

I had another one of my TIVO's go down. Call D** and they said we will send another that has to be on the lease program. I asked that it be TIVO and the guy said no problem. I had a Phillips 40hr and they sent a R10 80hr for 19.99. I keep seeing threads saying that they are not sending out TIVO any more and this is the 3rd time in the last 4 months that i have had to do this and they keep sending TIVO. I wonder if it is because i always ask for it...

Yup...just got one myself the other day. I wanted to add another DVR to the master bedroom so i called D*, and ordered one. I asked the CSR if it was going to be a r15 or r10. She said she didn't know for sure, sometimes they still send out Tivo's.
Well when I got it delivered the box said R10 (refurbished). So I now have three Tivo's. YEAH ME

According to posts here from supposed DirecTV reps, they will send out replacement DirecTivo DVRs to existing DirecTivo customers, and non-Tivo DVRs to existing R15 customers.

Well i can understand that. Im glad im on the TIVO side of that :cool:
When you ask for a replacement dvr it all depends on what you currently have. If you are replacing an R15, you will get another R15 regardless of what any CSR tells you. The only way to get a TiVo from DTV is to be replacing a current TiVo, and they will send you an R10 regardless of what model you currently have. Also, if replacing a TiVo the CSR has the option to send you a TiVo or an R15 depending on what you choose. (Choose TiVo) :)

Sure hope this isn't true!! Tech support level two guy who helped me with my POS R15's said I would indeed get Tivo units due to my dissatisfaction with the R15 models.
Note: I used to have Directivos prior to my R15's that I got 2 months ago.
In 3 days I guess I'll know for sure, as that's when my replacement units are due.

when i needed a replacement they couldn't guarantee a tivo so i went to weaknees...
