Using older dtv access cards?

I am getting a DTivo without a card but I have a chance of gettintg a virgin P4 card, would DTV activate it? The reason I ask, is that its my understanding that DTV is on P6 or P7 by now, so I dont know what is their policy on older cards.

The P* acronymn doesn't really play any more...

The are past the P4 card in the sense of new cards.

P4's still work, so they may activate it... but the only way to tell for certain is when you call them.

FYI I tried moving an Access Card 4 from an active series 1 DTivo to a series 2 DTivo and both DirecTV reps I spoke with yesterday would not let me move the card. I had to buy a new one for $20
