I remember a while back there was talk of DTV using Ruppert's DVRs from across the pond in place of those with TiVo. I haven't been keeping track but am starting service in a new location soon so I have some questions.

Are the DVR boxes currently on the DTV website TiVo powered or not? There is a pretty sweet deal that would fit my time line but love my SA TiVo's and want to make sure.

Are the DVR boxes currently on the DTV website TiVo powered or not?Only the HD ones. Those will go, too, as soon as DirecTV gets their act together on their MPEG-4 DVRs.

But you can buy the Series 2 DirecTiVo on Ebay or from PTV Upgrade.
