View Full Version : What show out there would you like to see axed?

Have you seen a show that was so horrible you just wanted to see it fail miserably?
For me its 'War At Home.' I can't change the channel quick enough at the end of The Simpsons credits.
I dont know who the main guy is (blond, father) but his delivery is so dry and... bleh. I've seen probably about a total of 3 minutes of this show. Can't stand it.
Anyone else?

Thankfully that show has been moved after Family Guy and American Dad will now play after Simpsons. Of course, it would be best if the Sunday night lineup was King of the Hill, Simpsons, Futurama, Family Guy, American Dad, but hey, beggars can't be choosers.

I think War at Home is a pretty good show. With 5 million channels, I don't really care if a show I do not watch or like it is on the air. It does not impact me.

Sure it does. If a show you don't watch and don't like airs opposite a show you do watch and do like, and clobbers it in the ratings, your show is likely to be canceled.

If it's really getting clobbered in the ratings, then it probably won't do much better in any slot.
If I don't like a show or don't want to watch a show, I just won't watch it. It doesn't need to be cancelled for me to not see it.

I'm with jsmeeker and jschuur on this one... if I don't like it, I just don't watch it.
However, there are shows I DO watch that I feel should get axed so I wouldn't have to keep watching them anymore, without feeling bad that I missed them. :D (Survivor and The OC come to mind).

That is what we do here in America. Especially if your God doesn't like something, it is your duty to call people names and demand that it be removed from the airwaves (Book of Daniel anyone?).
Unfortunately for me, my God happens to love Nancy Grace and American Idol.

Yea, remember when MTV, VH1, and even CMT use to play music... Now you just get the most stupid programming. like... Date My Mom, Parental Control, Room Raiders, and Next... Stupid! VH1 actually has some that I watch, but they get replayed so much. I like Best Week Ever, Hogan knows best, also I Love the 80's is a good one. But I don't need to see them 10 times a week.

Most shows out there that I don't like I just don't watch. But I would like to get rid of those shows that seep into the greater consciousness and disrupt things I do care about. There is just too much discussion about shows like American Idol on ESPN Radio these days, and I think that means it needs to go.
So basically, any show I don't give a damn about that is discussed on ESPN Radio - gone. Any show that I like that is discussed on ESPN Radio can stay. :D

Oh, so you're the one responsible for it being pulled for the next three weeks (Fox is airing a second Simpsons repeat next week, a second Family Guy the following week, and a movie on July 2). (I also wouldn't be surprised if it starts airing in its new 9:30 timeslot on July 9 (American Dad moves to 8:30) - Fox likes to move shows to their fall times early so viewers will get used to it.)

Chris Mathew's Hardball and Olbermann's show could disappear and I wouldn't shed a tear. I feel the same way about American Idol and all of its spawn. But then that's why I got Tivo, so I'd never have to watch anything I don't like again. :)

BOD, quite frankly, got horrible ratings despite all the hoopla it raised. And for the record, the show most likely would have been labeled insensitive if it made a mockery out of another religious segment like Islam or Judaism.

All "reality" TV, anthing where the audience votes on the winner, and anything that is on the air because it is inexpensive to produce and because the networks are too cheap to hire writers and actors.
So now you know what I don't watch. Yes, yes, we shouldn't complain about these shows because we don't have to watch them. Well, duh. But that's not what this thread is about, is it? :D

That's too easy, my TiVo keeps on recording Law and Order as suggestions and I keep on deleting them. That and Charmed.
I'm going to go out on a limb and say baseball, basketball, football, and all the follow the leader open wheel racing. I've had my fill, I remember when we only had three channels and it was the only thing on TV every Saturday and Sunday afternnon. At least hockey was gone for a season but I hear it's back now in reruns.
Another vote for American Idol even though I've only actually seen a couple of minutes of the show.

Yes and create HD SciFi channel with the reserved bandwidth.
Also axe all infomercials except Little Giant Ladder as it is the undisputed king of ladder technology.
Also kill G4, the whole stinking channel, send Xplay and the EP crew to Spike and banish G4 to the forbidden zone. In its place add another HD channel like BBC, not the American crap either the real deal.
Oh yeah I forgot, kill CSPAN, NASA, RFDTV, and bring back TechTv in their place in HD.

REAL WORLD - There is something wrong with that title now as they do not trully live in the REAL WORLD, they get a really great place to room togther and never have to pay rent. They get jobs without any experience or even an interview!!! and usually part way through the season they get sent on an all expense paid vacation enough is enough with that show
ROAD RULES - need I point out how bad this show has gotten since the first season which was the only one I will say was different and I liked it, but man now they rip off survivor and vote people off and stuff what a waste of time!!!!!

I have not watched a show on the MTV networks since last July - the complete hash they made of the Live 8 concerts.

Paid ProgramingNot necessarily. It was a Philips TiVo infomercial circa 1999 that sold me on the TiVo concept. So not all infomercials are the same; sometimes they can be useful (YMMV, etc.) As long as the infomercial isn't bumping real programming I don't have any problem with it.

Unscrewed Army Unite!!!No, you can't kill CSPAN. Millions of political junkies need their fix.
But killing G4 and bringing back TechTV is a must. Heck, X Play is the only decent show on G4 and G4 inherited it from the TechTV acquisition/merger/murder. Scrap G4 except for X Play, and maybe one or two other shows (Icons or Game Makers or whatever it is called now) and move back to San Francisco. Get Call for Help and Leo Laporte back; resurrect Screensavers, and pretend the whole unpleasant G4/TechTV merger thing never happened.

Any show that has featured, currently features, or will feature Kathy Griffin.
I actually think Kathy Griffin: My Life on the D-List is hilarious. I never considered myself a fan of hers before, but I've just started watching the show after reading so many good reviews, and I love it. It makes me laugh out loud more than the vast majority of network "sitcoms."
Kathy always says that her audience is everyone but straight white males, so she knows that most straight guys don't get her. That's okay, she has plenty of female fans and "her gays" love her.
I personally think that Lucky Louie show is the worst thing I've ever seen on TV -- embarrassingly unfunny -- but apparently there are men out there who find it funny, so diff'rent strokes and all that. I just turn the channel.
