I have a Series 1 (I know, really old) Tivo with version 3 OS. It kept crashing lately and I was unable to add a recording. So I went ahead and delete all program data and ToDo list. I did not realize this also delete all channel data. Now, I can no longer set up recording with manual time/channel.

The modem is broken and I can't do a dial-in. But I do have bash over serial. Is there any place I can find the channel data for DirecTV?

Your help is greatly appreciated. Thanks!

Get a plug in modem from Weaknees. It'll work, and get you back in business.

If interested, click here - http://www.weaknees.com/tivo-modem-fix.php

As for getting a Series 1 to work over the internet, if it's possible, others will have to tell you how. It's beyond my limited knowledge.

I've tried to set up internet when I first got it. All failed. Is there a few channel files that I can download somewhere and then transfer over serial line?

No. It must make an IP connection to the TiVo servers. If you can serially connect to your PC, you can use serial PPP to connect.

I've never connected to Tivo Server. I made the HD from an CD I downloaded here. The ISO image is not that big. But I don't have a clue how to get those files back in there.

I remember that there is a channel map editor using TivoWeb. Somewhere this data must be available. Can anyone help? Thanks!
