(newbie alert .... me.... )

Just got hold of Philips PTV100 TiVo which came minus any hard-drive.

I have MFS Tools 2.0 and a number of spare hard-drives. However I'm a bit confused by the MFS Tools Basic Guide:

All of the instructions in the guide assume that you are replacing an existing drive or at least adding a second drive. All the alternatives given seem to make use of a backup of the original drive or copying that drive to the new drive. Presumably, the act of doing that would also do whatever initialization (partion, format etc) the new HD needs. However, I don't have an existing drive to replace.

Can someone tell me how I can install a new, unpartioned/unformatted HD from scratch using MFS Tools 2.0 or point me somewhere where I can find out.

(Note: I'm basically a Windows user but I can follow Linux steps as long as they are explicit).

Option 1: Buy a pre-loaded drive from one of the forum sponsors WeaKnees or pTVupgrade

Option 2: Purchase InstantCake from pTVupgrade

Option 3: Plead, Beg for an image or PM StanSimmons (http://www.tivocommunity.com/tivo-vb/showthread.php?t=62430) if he has one then use the MFSTools CD in the PC to restore the image to a new hard drive.
