can i swap hard drives with a friend?

Hi,

I have a friend who doesn't need all the capacity she has (she has an upgraded larger hard drive) in her tivo, and i have a small drive in my tivo and could use more capacity.

Can i just swap these hard drives? Both are series2 machines. Wondering with both the compatibility of the hardware to accept different hard drives, and also if there would be any issues with tivo/directv sync....maybe info stored on the HD is linked to the one person's account?

Account info isn't stored on the HD
If both units are the same model, you can swap the drives. You'll have to do a clear and delete everything in order to get the swapped drives to work in their new units and that means no recordings or settings will be saved.
