It has been acting a bit funny lately. Paused a show, came back and it started to get all jerky and show a still screen, then would play, then would pixelate, then would play, etc.
Unplugged last night, it powered up, then came the receiving info from satellite screen... 5%, 20%, 53%, 60%, 63%, 70%...... stopped at 70%.
Unplugged it again and it stopped at 70% again. Left it overnight, and it was still at 70% this AM.
Came here, poked around a bit. Took out the card, put the card back in and as I write, got to 70% and stopped.
Any advice?!
Thanks!

sounds like a belly up hard drive to me.

I pressed some of the buttons on the front and it came up that it needed to acquire from the satellite and that I could not watch Live TV until it was done, but stated (I haven't tried) that I could watch from the Now Playing list.
I so hope the drive isn't going belly up. Is there anyway to fix it? I am Mac (OS X) based, so I have no way of doing what you guys do.
Any advice?
UPDATE
Hit the "now playing" it brought everything, then selected a program, it brought to put in a code (security code), did that, then was able to play the program.
Hit Live TV again and it went from 70% to 50% and worked its way back up to 70% where it stands right now.
Could the hard drive be shot, yet still play from the now playing list?

either find a PC or buy a pre-installed OS HD from weaknees or ptvupgrade.

Yes. But still can't get passed this 70% to receive live tv.
I unhooked the the satellite feed, then put it back and still stuck on 70%.

Think I should contact DirecTV's customer service?

I had a hard drive failure in a HDVR2 just a couple of weeks ago. It acted differently from yours. Mine got to the 'welcome - powering up' screen but never got any further. For $100 I ordered a replacement harddrive from Weak Knees and replaced the bad one. Took literally five minutes to replace and I'm up and running. Lost the shows I hadn't watched yet on my old drive, though.

I called DirecTV and they're sending me a new one. Just had to cough up the delivery charge ($19.95 FedEx).

I also learned that the last 30% is specifically the hard drive.. don't know if that helps anyone or if that is common knowledge around here.

You sure Directv is sending you a Tivo based unit and not one of their crappy R15's?

Gal told me Tivo 'cos that's what I got. Probably will be the same exact one I got last for another room, 80 hours, etc. But definitely Tivo.
