Since there are a number of DTV employees and installers here, I figured I'd drop this question in this space and get some feedback...

I'm in the process of moving to the East Lansing, MI area for a new job... my wife is staying put at our house in PA until we find her a position, and has given me the blessing to move the D* service to the apartment.

The complex sent me their rules for a dish install today: no holes in the walls, dish can't be hanging outside of the bounds of the balcony. If I go about this move through Mover's Connection, does this fall within the scope of the "standard" install or should I plan on having to pay the installer for a custom job?

Additionally, a legal question... the complex wants an additional security deposit and an insurance policy specifically protecting them from damage related to the dish. A quick trip around the 'net shows that this is language that a lot of rental properties use. Looking at the FCC regulations on dishes, I can't find anything that explicitly forbids this, but there is some gray area. Is this a battle worth fighting?

shouldn't be a custom installation, the installer will be happy he doesn't have to drill holes

as far as requiring a deposit for dish's, I'm not sure how much you can do about it. They're not restricting you from having a dish, just making sure you don't screw anything up doing it.
