Galactica 1980 festival on June 20, 7am-3pm central time.Turn your Tivos OFF for the day.
There's always the chance of a malfuntion, recording by accident as a suggestion or something, and it _cannot_ be risked.
Turn the Tivos back on when you get home from work and the danger is past.

Any show where Cousin Oliver is a great leader, well.....
As has been frequently mentioned, the only decent episode was the Starbuck flashback which was more like an episode of the original series.

When I watched this show at age 10, I liked every episode BUT the Starbuck one. I thought it was boring.
I am anxious to see it again with an adult mind. :)

The Return of Starbuck was the only remotely watchable episode. Even that is a joke at times, though.
Should you decide to watch, pay special attention to the crashed Cylon fighter. It's really bad.

I haven't seen this since it originally aired. I thought it was awful then (I was 14). I can't wait to see how much worse it seems now!

If it weren't for the original, we wouldn't have the remake today.

"The Night the Cylons Landed" might be one of the worst episodes of anything I have ever seen. The only redeeming factor in my opinion was William Daniels in Clown Makeup. He easily outclassed everything else within that episode.

I have heard tales of BG 1980 and thought for sure I must have seen it since I was a fan of the original, but then I found this:
*spoilers galore*

The Hitchhiker's Guide to the Galaxy rates Galactica 1980 at the same level as Vogon Poetry, where people have killed themselves to avoid exposure to it. To this day, there are people who stubbornly refuse to acknowledge that it ever happened. We, living in reality, KNOW it happened, and it's a testament to studio executives and the way their brains allegedly work.
Needless to say, AVOID THIS SHOW!

Great thread! Gawd, that show was awful. Made me a 2nd season latecomer to todays BSG series.

I remembered I was 14 when this show came on. My brother was 9 and I do remember both telling my dad that this show sucked!! The Return of Starbuck was the only show worth watching in the series.

Don't encourage the waste of bandwidth by watching any of this, its not even on the radar of so bad its good or campy. Distant memory that shoud be wiped clean

Damn... I forgot to set my TiVo for this before I went out of town. Hopefully they'll run it again...
Phew! Looks like I dodged the bullet! :D
This show really stains the memory of the original BSG. Must...purge....memories....

Finally watched "The Return of Starbuck." Indeed, a cool episode. My adult mind is pleased.
