It's 90% mental, and the other half is physical.

Blows up rock. Scissors cuts fuse. Not sure what paper does

Actually... when I was thinking about it....

Depending on how it works (best 3 of 5 tries)...

It is kinda similar to the "mental" part of Poker.
You learn your opponents tendancy, "tells", ect....

Or you flat our are lucky as heck and guess right more often then you are wrong.

I can't wait till next week though.....
ON the ESPN-S&M channel.... the Slap Hand Championships....

When you become a professional Rokpapsciologist, you are able to discern, in a fraction of a millisecond, what your opponent is about to whip out, thus allowing you to produce the appropriate counter-measure.

Yes, especially when someone throws paper, their elbow abducts. . . If you see this, throw scissors and you win everytime. Rock Paper Scissors is an art

Edit: little did I know, there really is a Silly Olympics. Google it!

So, I was told, I'm pretty sure on a Joan of Arcadia thread here at Tivo Community that people do play Rock, Paper, Scissors competitvely. If you're really smart, much smarter than I, you can find non random patterns in your opponants pick, and try to beat out what they'll do next. I wish I were that smart.

And I hear on F/X they are going to have the US Noogie regional, with Fox showing the World final in Sept.

But for a tragic slip-and-fall in a WalMart parking lot that injured both my wrists this championship would have been the culmination of a lifelong dream. Sadly, I'm resigned to attempting to qualify for the regionals of the 1-2-3 Quiet Mouse Championships.

I was getting tired of watching amateur bouts. Finally get to see the pros in action. ;)Ahhh, you need to keep up with your Rock-Paper-Scissor news & events: the true RPS pros are out on strike and you'll be watching "scabs" hired by the RPS franchise owners so as not to breach their TV contract. A lot of ad dollars at stake here. Can't let a little player strike take money out of some fat cat's pockets. Two teams that were able to scarf up some pretty good walk-on talent - the Quebec Quarry and the Rochester Reams - keep an eye on them.

This just in - the Quebec Quarry has been thrown out of the competition. Apparently, Quebec isn't in the United States so is not eligible. ;)

I laughed the whole hour....

It should not have been called a "documentary" more like a mockumentary....

"Let's look at our roots... 6 million years ago, cavemen played ROCK-ROCK-ROCK"

It was worth the watch.... the production quality was actually pretty high, for something that was so obviously fake.

All I know... I beat the master at the end

He throws a solid rock

The best part was the "Real Men of Genious" plug...

I thought it was going to be a cheesy game show network kinda style. I was very happy with it and thought it was a great thing to laugh at.

Thanks for pointing it out:)

:) The don't use him that much on ESPN1000 that much either anymore...

----------
Back to topic;

They are talking to one of the "Commisioners" Right now.

1) First, he chastized the hosts for the synical tone of their voice.
2) He reiterated that this was around before documented history, with the Cavemen Rock-Rock-Rock
3) He stated they are already on tap with Bud-Light for next year's championship. Next year they will have a "College" tour, where the winner wll win a scholarship
4) They are negotiating for a new media outlet (such as ESPN)

I am really confused.... I am 99% this is a serious pharse...
But it is still funny as heck.

Oh... and he said "Golf" isn't a sport, but Rock-Paper-Scissor is....

It wasn't that all bad of a TV show... just so long as you could get past the idea that it was real.... or maybe it was...

I think in terms of stupid shows, this one was awesome! I don't think anyone there or watching took it seriously, it was just a good time. Looked like a bunch of semi-drunk people they pulled in and said "do you want to play RPS for a chance at 50k?"

I wasn't quite sure what to expect, but when I saw this thread, I decided I had to record it.

It almost had an MXC feel to it--somebody did a real RPS tourney in Vegas (making sure that plenty of beer was available), and then someone else got ahold of the footage and added fake names and commentary to it. But there was some "banter" (I'm sure it was staged) between Attell and the "commentators", so they probably planned it out this way from the start.

Both the RPS championship and this thread (particularly with the addition of the extreme ironing link) make me feel like I've crossed into the twilight zone or something. Is it real? Is it a big joke? How can this stuff possibly be for real? But who the hell would bother with such a ridiculous, elaborate hoax? I have no idea what is going on. My head hurts. I want my mommy.

It's not just me, is it?
