There's 12 completed seasons of ER so far, but only 4 seasons have been released on DVD (the fifth is coming in July)...

Have there been any plans announced for the rest, or is there a schedule they've announced at least; something better than one (or less) a year?

I'd never watched the show, but recently with nothing else to watch have been catching several ER episodes since my TiVo records them as suggestions pretty regularly and would like to just start with season 1 and watch them all the way through to catch up. But with 7 seasons missing... :)

I don't know, but it just strikes me as funny to read that you want to watch 12 seasons to "catch up."

I guess I'm surprised that the show is still going and there is a place for you to catch up to.

While there have indeed been 12 seasons, it REALLY went downhill after S8, so I just stopped there. FWIW.

In terms of the DVDs, there was an issue with the music licensing (IIRC) between S2 and S3 that hung up the S3 release for around a year. Now that that's been straightened out, I think we'll see two releases per year (when S5 hits in July, there will have been three releases in 16 months).

It's mostly 2002/2003/2004 reruns on right now I believe... many times it's been really captivating to watch... maybe things picked back up again? :)

I stopped watching about 5 years ago, once most of the original cast left. I think the last straw was the "Breakfast Club" episode where they tried to introduce all the new characters. At that point, I just didn't care anymore and was glad to be done with it. The wife still watches, but I was able to liberate myself.

Today I finished watching every episode of ER to date. :)

Seasons 1-5 by DVD then via TNT.

Thank you TNT-HD.

Thank you TNT-HD.

Be sure to thank them for their bastardized stretch jobs on 4:3 material, too.

.. and of course hacked up with extra commercials..

BTW, first season of 'er' from Amazon, $8.39. Still gotta find a couple other things to get up to $25 for free shipping.

The show did go downhill after most of the original cast left, but the last couple of seasons have been good.

Is TNT showing last seasons (2005-2006) yet? Someone at work caught up, but they missed the beginning of 2005-2006 season and NBC wasn't re-running and TNT wasn't showing them.

The early episodes are great! I've heard it's gotten good again but I gave it up two seasons ago.

sigh, I slacked too long and a couple of days ago the price went back up. (I noticed it when I remembered another thing I wanted to buy!)

I was a late comer to ER. I didn't start watching until the last three seasons. And after trying to go back and watch some of the early shows, I think its much better now. I've got to say that unless it gets amazingly bad, I will hang onto it as if it were heroin and I was a junkie. I will watch anything that is not another crime show. I am so thoroughly sick of the genre dominating everything on the tube. And since I detest reality television even more, I am left with slim pickens'.

I've been watching E.R since it first aired - and it was good up until the end of the 2002 season, where Mark Greene died. After that it kind of slowly went downhill, but this Season (06 - 07), I'm really liking it a lot more than the last couple.

I have been watching from the beginning and it was my favorite show up until a few years ago. I got a few episodes behind this season and just ended up deleting them. I found some of the episodes this season a real chore to watch, especially ones with multiple musical montages. You know, where they play some sensitive song and cut from scene to scene of all the characters doing something with no dialog. These were damn annoying, especially the ones that seemed to last 5 minutes.
