Can anyone help? or suggest someone that can fix this.

Thompson Tivo, originally fitted with one 10Gb and one 30Gb drive. I followed the instruction on upgrading the machine and managed to fit two 160 Gb seagate baracuda drives to the machine. All seemed well.

But as time has gone on I have been experiencing more and more trouble. Errors include:

1. Refusing to play recorded programs even though they played fine the day before.

2. Program fragmentation, fragments of programs interupt recorded programs causing :
a. Machine to reboot
b. Recording to jumpto beginning
c. Recording to jump to end

3. Regular audio pitch change on both recorded and live programs

4. Failure to play recorded programs (similar to problem 1)

Any ideas?

I saw all of these problems except for no. 3 after my upgrade.

It turned out to be a swap-space problem. The required swap space had not been created during the image restore.

Do you have a network card of any sort? If so, telnet in and type this:

"cat /proc/meminfo"

and see what the reported swap space is.

Did you run copykern?

Also do:

"cat /proc/version"

to check that your TiVo is running an LBA48-aware kernel (ie check whether you did run copykern)
