I need someone to splain something to me. I have a duel tuner dtivo and although most transponder streingth is above 90 on one and mostley 100 on the other I have some transponders in the low 70's and I beleive causing drop outs on some stations, mainly Dis, HGTV, TLC, DIY. Im trying to diaganose the problem and dont understand whats going on.
First number is transponder, 2nd is #1 SS, 3rd is #2 SS.
11=70-197
16=72-98
17=76-100
26=100-100
28=76-99

If I swap the cables on the back of the Dtivo the SS swaps and #2 is is the low one
If I swap the cables on the LNB they remain the same, If I swap the cables comming out of the switch on the back of the antenna, they remain the same. I would assume that swapping the cable on the output of the Switch is the same as swapping the cables comming into the Unit. What am I missing?
thanks

If I swap the cables on the back of the Dtivo the SS swaps and #2 is is the low one Then you found your problem. It's a bad cable or a bad F-connector on that cable. Replace the cable if it is easy. Most of the time it's easier to just replace the F-connectors at each end.

Because there fighting for the same station and I cant spell. reel goot.

Changing the cable will be a real bear. I can replace the connector on each end but they look fine. I think that they are 2 different types of coax, so I suppose I should buy the right type and pull it through.

A connector can look just fine. But a little corrosion out of sight can cause a problem. I'd replace each connector whether it looks fine or not. Also, check the cable for any cuts in the outer insulation. If you do replace the cbale, make sure it is RG-6.
