hey im new here.i just moved and have no internet and no phone, but i do get a wireless connection from the nieghbor. is there someway to hook the Tivo to my laptop to download the updates that tivo keeps asking me for. great website by the way

After the initial setup the phone line is not really required. After about a month you will get a daily nag message but just delete it.

Take unit to neighbor and hook to his phone and call in.
