Howdy, having a tad bit of trouble with my Tivo. I recently upgraded the harddrive on my Tivo Series 1. It was a philips hdr312. I upgraded it from a dual hard drive to a single larger harddrive using hindsdales directions (GREAT directions btw, very detailed and easy to follow). Everything seemed to be working fine, booted up great, picture paused and rewinds great, etc. I went through the show lineup and when i hit select to record a show that was on later on tonight it would do nothing for a few seconds and then would go to the Tivo screen that shows when you first plug the power in.

If anyone happens to know a fix to this problem it would be greatly appreciated. i tried searching around here and on google but couldn't find any reboot problems that were the same as mine. if anyone needs more info about the system or specs let me know. Thanks once again.

I decided to try out some of the other buttons that are tivocentric when i came home from work today. It seems that pushing the record button on a show that is currently being watched also causes the tivo to go to the "Tive is starting please wait.." screen that comes up when you first plug the tivo in. So it seems that it is a error or problem that has to do directly with trying to record a show. I played with everything else but nothing else caused it to reboot. Just the record button and the select button to record a show at a later time.

Two trains of thought
1 Run the manufacture diagnostics on the new drive you may have a drive with problems.

2 If your drive is larger then 132G do you have a LBA48 kernel for the hdr312 also check your swap partition.
