Mine has been off since just before 6pm that I know of. It's 2 minutes behind....

This used to be a problem a few years ago and seemed to happen quite frequently. It's been quite a while since I've noticed this.

I'm on an older series 1 Hughes unit.

I would assume this affects all receivers regardless of series or model.

A few years ago it was caused by the downlink time on one of the transponders being off. Try changing the TiVo to channels that use different transponders and see if the time fixes itself within a few minutes.

Interesting, that seems to have worked. Thanks!

So, if I switch back to the same local channels on both my tuners, will the time be off again? That's what the tuners were on when I noticed this problem.

I didn't realize that each transponder had it's own time downlink, but I guess that makes sense.

I didn't realize that each transponder had it's own time downlink, but I guess that makes sense. It should again shift by two minutes if you tune the tuners back to the same channels. What channels were they? Do you know what the satellite and transponders they are on? Good luck trying to report the problem to DirecTV. Last time it took over a month for them to reset the downlink time.

I'd have to play with it, but I think there are only 3 transponders for the local Boston channels. Right now, both tuners are busy for a bit so I can't check.

I've had a few calls about this.

Thanks for giving a solution...I honestly had no clue what to tell the customer about it

It seems that this problem has risen its ugly head again.
I have seen a few recorded shows with a minute or two missing from the front end.
Obviously, the time is off because of some TP that the unit was tuned to and then it started a recording late. The new TP fixed the time so it stopped on time.

It's time to use the clock in the lower right corner trick and do some investigation.

if you guys figure out what txp it is, I can get it escalated and reported pretty quick

I've got the clocks running on all three TiVos so I'll be watching for discrepancies.
The last hour or so they have all been the same with different channels.
I was changing the channels every 10 minutes or so.

keep me updated

I'll try to confirm your results and then try to get it escalated to the NCC

Everything seemed to be in order as of about an hour ago. I didn't change channels and wait very often however. In the past you had to wait about 10 minutes in order to see the time change on the unit. Maybe it is longer now. Anyway, this morning all three TiVos had the same time although they were tuned to different channels.

Maybe you can verify if there is just one TP that is the master time sync or if all TPs have a time base? Hopefully, all TPs would eventually be synced with a master time somewhere.

Each transponder has it's own time.

Hopefully then, each one gets it from the same source.
