I just noticed they're up to season 4. I stopped watching after season 1 ended. Anybody still watching this? Anything new happening?

Anything new happening?
This season is in Vegas.

I had no idea it was still on until I saw an ad in EW for QE Las Vegas. I stopped watching a few episodes into season 2, it was just getting so repetitive and dull.

It looks like Queer Eye for the Straight Girl quietly went away in its first season.

This morning on MSNBC I heard Queer Eye for the Straight Guy has been cancelled. It was getting a bit stale anyway.

I thought I had heard that it wasn't even called ...for the straight guy...anymore? I think I stopped watching sometime during season 2 or 3 when they started making over people I felt didn't really deserve it or were not really looking for a lifestlye change.

Yeah I think that was about the time I stopped watching as well.

I was just thinking about the show, wondering if anyone still watched. I checked the program list, and saw it was still showing. Didn't start recording it again, though.

They just call it Queer Eye now. They dropped the "for the Straight Guy" becasue they started doing more than that. The next show is about a she/he.
I just heard they've recorded several shows and will be showing them off and on until early '07.

Last night's episode had a transgender person (female into male). The fab 5 were good as always, but the show is repeating itself. Halfway through I left it to Quicken my finances instead.

Bingo. That's exactly the reason I dropped the show, and right around the same time. The show lost its appeal when it became a stage for handing out product placements to people who didn't really need or deserve the help.

It's still extremely entertaining, but I can see where some people would find it repetitive.
The stories are the same (slobs with potential)...and of course, there is blatent product placement, but I'm still watching.

I stopped watching back in season two, but I recently saw them on an episode of Kathy Griffin's "My Life on the D List" and it reminded me how much I liked them (the boys, not necessarily the show)...so I've been recording some. I will most likely FF through them, but I've got them there if I want them.

'pretty much stopped watching as well.
No matter what happens to the show, though, I'll always be thankfull for the the eShave and Zirh product recommendations (even if they might have been shameless product placements). :)

I quit watching during either the second or third season, when it became "a very special Queer Eye". I think it the last one I watched was the Red Sox episode and the associated charity event.

Bizarre. That was the one that did it for me too.

Well, you might want to screen it before letting impressionable youth watch it.

I'm still watching it every week. Maybe I'm hoping they will go back to their roots and have show like any of them from the first season. I almost fell off the couch laughing at those early episodes.
The show has gone downhill since they started making over guys who needed a career boost, famous people, and doing weddings.
The original premise of the show was great and they blew a good thing by changing it.

Now I'm intrigued, might have to catch a rerun. What was it about?

Yeah, same for me, it really went downhill once they tried to draw in women by doing weddings and mushy crap.

Geez, why all the hatin'? I LOVE the show! Carson is like my wedding planner reincarnated! (Well, Billy's not dead, AFAIK, but...) :p
Yes, there is product placement, but people want to buy the same stuff they give the guys on the show! Why the heck not?? ;)
I think the Queer guys are hilarious, not to mention cutie-cute-cute, and maybe the guys they help are not the most deserving, or really looking for a change, but who cares? The show is fun and I love it. Makes me laugh, especially the double entendre jokes. I met Ted at a book signing (he is from Carmel, IN, a suburb of Indianapolis, where I live) and he couldn't have been more charming. I love how the Queer guys are taking little digs at each other this season--with love of course-- that really cracks me up. They are like a family. A big Queer family. And I enjoy them. So there! :)
p.s. LOL @crab people reference--crab people! crab people! crab people! Hee hee!

A lot of the show is about the couples lack of a sex life, with discussion with a sex therapist about how to please a woman. Includes them showing various sex toys.
