Odd system sounds

As of today the system sounds on my Tivo have changed / become distorted. The sounds are very similar to the CLICK and BONG but now have a sort of metallic echo included. Sound on programmes both live and recorded is normal.

Any idea's ? Is it a symptom of something more concerning ? Daily call went through today and suceeded and no messages

Edit - hang on just found that the sound IS effecting normal TV sounds so maybe TV on way out!!

Edit - Yes looks like the 'pro logic' setting on my Sony TV is failing.. have changed to another setting and all normal again.

Since ProLogic uses phases differences between the two stereo channels for the surround sound, you might get odd effects if you've managed to reverse the connections of one of the channels. However, it is difficult to see how you could cause this accidentally, unless you have external wiring. You might like to try re-seating the connections, since a poor contact might create problems.
