Hi folks... not been here for a while, mainly because life with Tivo has been blissfully simple for the last few years.

Recently my Tivo started to reboot... once a fortnight or so but as the 120Gb drive had been in there for three years I figured it was a warning of things to come.

So, from Ebuyer I ordered a 320GB Western Digital Caviar SE drive and from Tivoland I ordered a new PSU (so cheap it was rude not to).

This morning I cracked open the case of my Tivo and, following the instructions at http://www.steveconrad.co.uk/tivo/upgrade3.html, I performed the upgrade.

Steve's instructions were brilliant, though over the last three years I've learnt a little Linux so it makes a lot more sense than when I first upgraded :P, and I only had to deviate once or twice.

After following the instructions to the letter my Tivo stuck in a reboot loop... so a quick search led me to the 274gb partition issue (http://archive2.tivocommunity.com/tivo-vb/showthread.php?p=2651665&&#post2651665) ... so I changed Steves restore command to:
restore -x -s 320 -r 4 -zpi /mnt/dos/tivo.bak /dev/hdc

I decided on the larger swap because I have space and I might want to drop in another 320GB at some point and the "-r 4" seemed to solve the reboot problem.

I'm now fully back up and running so thought I'd drop a line to say many thanks. :)

EDIT: Oh, just for information, my 320GB Tivo now lists 110 hours best, 386 hours basic. So no more manually deleting programmes for me for a while.
