Right now I capture still pictures from my S1 Tivo using Svideo out to a Hauppauge card, works great. My question is what happens when I go to an S3, will it also output video on an Svideo jack and what happens if I am in OTA HD? Will it down convert it to regular Svideo and will sides be cut off or anything? Does anyone out there capture HD pics as still pictures, if so how is it done? The video cards I have seen don't mention that kind of capture so I am assuming I must stay with Svideo. Any ideas?

Based on what was said at CES it will always output standard definition video on the RCA and S-Video jacks even if the video being played is HD. So it should work exactly like your S1 does now.

Is this different than the way the DTV HDTiVo works? My Father in law has one and has a video sender that outputs to the SDTV in his gym via coax. We couldn't get a picture on the SDTV (using the HDTiVo's video RCA out jack as the source) unless we changed the output resolution to 480i.
I assumed the HDTiVo turned the RCA jack off when the output was set to a resolution higher than what it can handle.
That would be cool if the S3 overcomes this limitation, but I do wonder why the DTV HDTiVo does not.

No idea. These are the kinds of questions that can only be answered once the unit is actually released and we can test it out.
