Is there anyway to burn shows using anything other than SONIC MyDVD? I would think there would be another way to burn shows. I tried to get the trial, but Sonic has still not emailed me the key.
Please Help!
Thanks
Ryan

My DVD 6.2 (even though it is a pain to get to work right) is the only "supported" way to burn, but it does let you edit comercials out which is cool. There are others I've seen posted, but they sounded like even more of a pain...
Here are a few tips:
You can use pretty much any generic trial code so feel free to use this one: Trial Serial: CYYADVAP3WZ7D8ZKD
You will need to ensure you are running Tivo Desktop 2.0 and NOT 2.2, as 2.2 causes it to lockup. I posted a link to that thread below.

I am trying to avoid using Sonic...basically I am trying to avoid paying for anything..I would like to find a freeware to use that would work just as good as Sonic...I think taking out commercials is cool but not a priority...free is better.

Got it. If you find a solution that isn't a royal pain in the rear, let me know. I have Sonic working (sort of), but I'm not exactly happy with it, it does not work as described, and I really would like to run Tivo Desktop 2.2 instead of 2.0
Good luck!

I prefer Nero Vision (usually part of the nero suite). Its a one stop shop.
Its very easy to use. I drop approx 3 one hour shows on one DVD and Nero suggests different compression. If you don't like the suggested compression, you can customize it yourself. I add some quick "auto chapters"and a default menu for easy navigation and Voila you'd done in about 20 minutes.
Also, "export" your project to a video file or ISO to test it before you burn it. Don't directly burn to DVD.
Enjoy !

I also like NERO, but since the OP wants something good but doesn't want to pay anything for it I guess the OP is stuck using what they have.

What came with your DVD burner? I use WinDVD Creator 2.0 which came with mine.
I have Nero OEM but it did not have DVD support with out another $20.
For commercial editing check out videoredo. It has a 30 day trial I believe. Works great, supports .tivo files and has a commercial finder feature that works great. I have archived my CSI's (all 3) and have ready for some summer viewing off of what I missed off of my external hard drive.
