I recently purchased a HP PL4260N plasma HDTV and now I am beginning my search to find a remote code that works with my TiVo remote control (series 2). I've searched the Tivo support and this forum and have not seen anyone discussing HP TVs for the remote code. The TiVo list presented does not list HP as a TV brand.

Does anyone have a HP tv and been able to successfully program it to control the power function? Any suggestions are welcome and appreciated.

HP uses their own unique remote control codes so if you buy an HP Plasma or LCD TV you won't be able to control the TV's functions with other remotes that come with cable boxes, DVRs, Tivo, A/V receivers, and so on.

Thank you VERY much for the reply, Synthohol! I read that entire post and found this:

When you want to program a universal remote control to operate your HP TV, if HP is not listed in the supported brand codes, use a Philips TV code. The HP remote control transmits Philips-licensed remote control codes.
So... I went to TiVo and brought up the list of TV brands and found Philips in the list. The code that worked for me was 0148.

I can now control PWR, Volume, Mute, and Inputs!

Hope this helps other HP PL4260N owners!

It definitely helped me. I was just setting up my parents new HP 4782N Media Center TV to work with their old TiVo that I bought them for Christmas in 2001. Really nice to have the power and volume controls work.
