Directivo remote not working - need help/suggestions

I have a two Directivo units.

On one unit, the remote will not control the Tivo for some reason. It does
control the TV however (on/off. volume up/down, change TV channel).
That same remote will not operate my other Tivo unit either.


My other unit works fine and my other remote will control both
Tivo units just fine.

So it appears to be something with this particular remote.

Is there something I can do/try? Or do I just need to get a new remote?

That remote probably has had its remote address changed. Check the manual on how to reset it. You need to set each remote for its respective TiVo to different addresses. Address 0 will control any TiVo.

This might be too simple of a solution, but I believe this exact thing happened to me a couple of months ago. I had accidently swithched (on the remote) from sat to tv. The manual switch needs to be on sat.

The older remote (small peanuts) don't have the switch...but yes look at try it.
