Got a used HR10-250 from eBay...how do I configure with VOIP?

Hi, I haven't been in here for quite a while, but the news of DirecTV's contract extension with TiVo influenced me getting a used one on eBay. So now my questions are:

1. Do I really need to use the phoneline at all? Can someone direct me to a link with the hack.

2. What other accessories do I need to enable the TiVo guide via the internet? What procedure do I go through to get TiVo working on a used HR10-250?

3. I know there are ways of extracting the recorded files for archiving on my PC. Which one would you recommend?

1. The phone line is only needed for initial activation and to activate new software releases and PPV with the remote.

2. The guide data comes over the satellites.
