I came home to find out 'Deal or No Deal' was recording instead of 'Amazing Race'. I wanted to cancel 'DonD' (TivoWebPlus 1.2.1) and use the manual record option to start recording 'AR' - but, there is no cancel button for the show- and I can't delete the show since its being recorded.

I tried cancelling the season pass of 'DonD', and then rebooted the tivo, but as soon as it started back up, it began to record 'DonD' again!!.

Any way to cancel a recording in progress? Perhaps a way to keep the tivo from starting back the recording after the reboot, then I could do a manual record.

I ended up having to set up a manual record at 8pm of the final hour of 'Amazing Race', AFTER 'DonD' finished. 'AR' was 2 hours, so I missed the first hour, all because I couldn't cancel a recording!! :( (I have no direct access to the DirecTivo receiver to cancel with the remote)

If you go to the recording in the Now Playing List, you should be able to cancel from there... also, on live tv, if you hit right arrow and select, it'll give the option... also, on live tv, if you hit record, it should give the option to cancel (last 2 work on dtivos... not sure about SA)

thanks for taking the time to reply - but - im trying to do this in TivoWebPlus - I don't have direct access to use the remote on the system.

Ah, that makes more sense... not sure it can be done, I'm afraid... it'd mean messing with the state of the recording in mfs, and I'm not sure tivo would catch the change... a mistake could mess things up. (unless you have an S1, in which case you could possibly use the web remote.)

I have wanted to do this in the past also or extend the buffer / pad at the end of a show while the show in progress. No go!

how about going into your SP for TAR and selecting the episode that is currently playing and telling TWP you want to record that? TWP should notify you that there is a conflict and you should be able to overide from there. Whether or not this works for shows that are currently on, I have no idea.

Not positive, but I'm pretty sure TWP doesn't employ the same rescheduling on a SP change... i.e. I doubt that'd work... not even sure it'd work on a SP change from the tivo itself.

I'm not talking about changing the SP. AFAIK the quickest way to tell TWP to record a show is off of an SP. The first thing TWP does when you select an SP is list the upcoming shows. Now whether or not something that has already started would show up, I don't know.

The other way would be to search for the name of the show, then when the results came up click on that name. By using the SP you've eliminated the search step.
