How cruel would it have been to have had that ending and then Scrubs not come back for season six? Hopefully NBC won't lose its resolve before next spring.
I thought these two eps were a great way to end an up-and-down season. "My Urologist" was classic Scrubs, funny and warm, and JD was JD rather than the buffoon he's been for most of the season. "My Transition" wasn't as funny but got better and better as the episode went on. I really like Elizabeth Banks. And wow, nice twist at the end! I had read that the season would end with someone else pregnant, so I was totally faked out by Jordan being preggers first.
I love how willing this show is to move relationships and situations and life along. Bring on season six!

Well played, indeed. And that Baby Back Quartet, with the Doc all duct taped, I was crying. And, honestly - I may have peed, just a little. :D

(looked like upconverted quality to me)
The first episode was great--but the second--OMG, JD, a dad

Gift shop girl!! returns.
'But I sent flowers to your parents.'
'I know, you bought them from me.'
:D
Definitly agree the first episode was a bit stronger than the second. Thought the horseback thing was a dream sequence at first. I really wish they'd get rid of the Dr. Acula and floating head jokes. They have their moments but are far too cheesy at times.
That's a pretty big cliffhanger and with no firm date when NBC's bringing the show back, makes it all the worse. Hold me Turke!

I liked them both. Glad to hear that NBC has renewed the series and I don't mind that we have to wait until midseason. It worked fine this year.
I love that we got to see The Blanks (http://www.theblankswebsite.com/) again, and the bit where they never say "Ribs" was classic.
I usually like the girls JD dates and then I'm bummed when he screws it up, but for some reason I wasn't that hip on this chick. It's like she was trying too hard to be cool.
Are we to assume that they did it under the stars on the deck? Were all those other people making out on blankets the gay old men, or someone else?

Wow, Elizabeth Banks. At first, I thought it was Parker Posey gone blonde and goofy.
"My Trans" could have been a series finale. Right up until the last ten seconds.
I agree, enough with floating-head doctor already.

I admit this made me laugh harder than it should have. Great episodes. I continue to wish I had known about this show before this season. Netflix will come through though. It always does.

Dr. Acula is ok when JD is talking about it, or even describing some of the scenes. But when they show it I agree it is too cheesy.

I want them to go ahead and post Dr. Acula (The cell-phone recorded version) up on the Web. And then enough of talking about it until next season's cliffhanger when Robert DeNiro shows up and wants JD to go to the Tribeca Film Festival. Will he stay with the doctoring thing or will he be seduced by Bright Lights, Appletinis?

I was trying to figure out who Dr. Briggs was.. thanks... JD is the luckiest goofball on the planet.
I think the baby might not be JD's because he probably fell asleep or something and they did not do anything which means it has to belong to someone else.
As for floating head doctor, it does feel like a recurring sketch on SNL, but even so, when they show it I still laugh. In fact when it came up again, I was like "Not this again", but I still ended up laughing at the stupidity of it.
Turk AND J.D being fathers....that'll be weird, haha.
Wait a minute... They are not on their third date yet, and JD is already hitting that? That is so unlike his unlucky persona.
The funniest moment was the Gift Shop Girl, played by the lovely Sarah Lancaster of "What About Brian". Damn, I wished that episode was in HD.

Banks' character was derailed a bit in the second episode. She didn't seem to even be the same character really.
I loved the part in the first where JD does all the hand motions to grope all the invisible women.

Not to look too much into it, but Dr. Briggs went into a long discussion about how this was her first first date since high school, so I can't picture her character as someone who just jumps into bed with different guys.
I'm also a little curious why they waited 2 and a half weeks between dates.

Perhaps because she got pregnant and wasn't sure how to tell him?
Maybe that horseback ride gave J.D.'s boys a little more pep. :D
I agree with the doubt that she slept around. I'm not really sure how it will play out.
One of the possibilities may be abortion which might be a sticky subject for Scrubs to get into. I actually thought when Jordan and Cox realized they were pregnant again that they would at least consider it. They still might but the subject was never brought up.

I'm no doctor, but I thought even the two and a half weeks was a little quick to know that you're pregnant. But hey, the greater possibility is that I'm an idiot.

That was something I was thinking about with Jordan and Cox, but I think you could tell by the end they were warming to the idea of another kid. I've always been someone who thought that a show should deal with the issue of abortion (shows such as Party of Five and Grey's Anatomy had characters that were considering abortion have miscarriages), but I don't think Scrubs falls into the Maude character of doing risky, topical stories.

BTW - I just read on TV Guide's website that Christa Miller is pregnant in real life.

That was fairly obvious from the episodes. My wife noticed it right away, long before the plot telegraphed it. She said, "Wow, her face looks fat. I wonder if she's pregnant."

No mention of the opening credit of the first episode? When I first heard it, I though "Oh God, they're going back to the long opening".
Then she fixes the X-ray...classic.

Yes. The new doctor turned it around and said, "That's been bugging me for five years."

After watching it again last night, Carla's pregnancy sure got fast tracked compared to J.D and Dr. Briggs relationship.

I guess I'll have to re-watch for the opening again...
Also, I did find that these last two had a lot more chuckle out load moments than the past 4 or so have had (at least for me).

YOu think VW paid for that??? (it is vw, right?)
the proliferation of product placements worked into the scripts is growing by the month. Not that i care. Smart tactic for the advertisers (and shows) to respond to the DVR phenomenon.
I love this show.

The second episode looked great, not upconverted! The first episode looked upconverted... because it was! The second one had that Malcolm In the Middle HD quality. You know it's not the best, but damn does it look better.
