I haven't read the link so this could be a smeek but Locke was an admiral on Star Trek:TNG. He was the commander of the ship Riker was on before the Enterprise that they had to go recover.

Terry O'Quinn was in so much stuff before Lost that I can hardly believe it. There for a while, he constantly in at least one show I was recording. I specifically remember him from Millennium, Harsh Realm, Earth II, Roswell, Jag, Alias, and now Lost. He was on the X-Files at least once or twice, and I think I remember him in an episode of NCIS. Then there are the films. I think the IMDB has almost one hundred items listed for him. Tom Cruise has less than forty.
