It had a shakey start, but as all good series, really warmed up at the end of season 1.

Then season 2 saw the start of the overall arc of the show.

Seasons 3 and 4 it was just tons of fun. Fantastically vibrant seat-of-the-pants space opera goodness.

Then it ended.

Almost 2 years later, Sci-Fi blessed us with The Peacekeeper Wars mini-series. But I never saw it. My TiVo died. :(

So, I set out to rewatch it all from the beginning. And last night I saw the mini. My boys got interested during a battle scene in season 1 and they've been watching with me ever since.

The mini was an awesome conclusion to a superb series. It really worked on many levels. Tied up so many stories with satisfaction. All in all, a worthy addition to the pantheon of science fiction.

It's still resonating with me today. The ending was spectacular, heavy, meaningful. I loved it. How about you?

I think Farscapes biggest asset was also it's biggest problem. The characters changed and evolved as the show went on. This made it very hard for people to get into the show after the first season.

As for the ending, I enjoyed it, although some parts were whacky.

Some parts always were. That show was kinda out there. They were light on science and heavy on concept.

I kinda liked the fluid nature of the cast, though.

I love Battlestar: Galactica.
I love Doctor Who.

I still miss Farscape.

I still can't figure out how Dhargo(sp?) got his ship. AFAIK, it jus' appeared one episode. And Jool annoyed the crap outta me. Been a while since I saw it(I was one of the apparent few who saw it as it aired from day 1), so I don't remember much more.

D'Argo found his ship (Lo'la) somewhere they went. I forget where. Maybe the aged leviathan? Crap, now I'll have to go back and find out.

I liked Jool. She's hot. Big rack, too.

Please do. I could find no mention of it. It seemed like one episode it wasn't there, then the next, it was.

I liked Jool. She's hot. Big rack, too.

Maybe if she kept her mouth shut.

BTW, anybody know why the DVDs were so expensive?

A ha! He found it adrift around the commerce station in the episode Suns and Lovers.

You don't always want it shut.

Really? I recall that episode, but not him finding the ship. Where did you find that out?

PS Look ma! No apostrophes! :P

Long as she's not talking. She was so whiny.

D'Argo found the ship during the gamma-storm chaos on the Commerce Station. The ship was drifting, unclaimed, and enticingly purple, so D'Argo asked Pilot to bring it aboard.

From here (http://www.scifi.com/farscape/notes/luxanship.html).

See, that's how they worked. During that episode, D'Argo had a throw away line to Pilot about hauling in the ship. I don't even know if they mentioned it next time. It took him a few episodes to get it to work. They plant little things here and there and bring them up full force later on.

Like Katratzi.

How was Katratzi like that? And it's cool that they do that, but unless you watch the show straight through, you miss a lot of that.

Were you asking about the DVDs before?

If you look at the Starburst collection, they are cheaper ($60 for a full season) and have more extras than the full season sets.

Watching Peacekeeper Wars and knowing that this was Season 5 in a miniseries format only makes me want to send SciFi Channel another box of saltines... because after all

CRACKERS DO MATTER !!! :D

Nope, that wasn't me. An' how does one tell that it's a Starburst collection?

How was Katratzi like that?
In Unrealized Reality, John met "Einstein," the wormhole alien. During one of John's sojourns to an "unrealized reality" all the crew aboard Moya were mixed up. The Stark/Sokozu character blurted out the word "Katratzi" while passing over the Aeryn/Chiana character to the other side.

It wasn't for several more episodes than John discovered Katratzi was the secret Skarran base an abducted and pregnant Aeryn was being taken to.

In fact, he had to go back to that same unrealized reality to try and find where Katratzi was.

Yeah, I remember that. I jus' didn't see it as the same since they kept it in the forefront. It wasn't something that got blurted an' then not used for a couple eps. BTW, that reality was scary, yet funny.

Uh, yeah, that's exactly what it was like. I just detailed it above. Sokozu/Stark blurted it out, it wasn't mentioned for a few episodes, then they returned to it.

Really? I don't remember it bein' like that, but I haven't seen those eps in years.

Cool. I'd do that, but I've got a ton of stuff to watch already. And the seasons are too expensive.

Nope, that wasn't me. An' how does one tell that it's a Starburst collection? The titles are all Farscape Starburst Edition, with three individual DVD sets to a season. Ex: Season 1 is Farscape Starburst 1.1, 1.2, and 1.3.**

Here's the full list (http://www.bestbuy.com/site/olspage.jsp?id=cat12085&type=page&sc=Title&qs=farscape+starburst&cp=1&sp=ReleaseDate&mipp=25&uq=Farscape+Starburst&_requestid=83842) from Best Buy. If the link doesn't work, go to Best Buy, enter "FARSCAPE STARBURST" in the search field and change the "IN" field to Title. Then sort by Release Date and voila ... you have some buying to do!

** Some stores, such as Best Buy, will confuse things a bit by numbering all Starburst titles sequentially. Ex: Farscape Starburst 2.1 is listed as Starburst 4 online at Best Buy, since it's the 4th release of the Starburst series.)
