Replaced Hard Drive but have a problem

I recently replaced my hard drive on my RCA DVR 40. My issue now is that I'm being asked to call the mother ship. Unfortunately I can't do this because I'm using Vonage through a RCA wireless phone jack. Any suggestions on how I can make this work? I don't care about the daily call. I just want to get back on my feet again with this unit.

Also, If I take this to work and have it make it's call, will I run into the same problem when i plug it back in at home? :confused:

Sounds like your DVR40 needs to make its initial "Guided Setup" phone call. That call requires an analog phone connection, but you can do it from work or a friend's house ... you don't need the satellite connection for that call. Once it's completed you should be able to bring it home, connect it to your satellite dish, and be good to go.
