View Full Version : Is there a shortcut to go to Manually Record Time/Channel?

I've searched the forums and my TiVo News e-mails but cannot find an answer to the following question.

I recently started doing a lot of recording of OnDemand programming and have found that I need to manually record via time and channel to record the shows correctly. Is there a shortcut to go straight to the Manually Record Time/Channel option?

Also, is there one list of all TiVo shortcuts like this listed anywhere?

Press TiVo then 7.

More generally, press TiVo then the following:

1: Season Passes
2: To Do List (easy to remember: two= to)
3: Wish List
4: Search by Title
5: Search by Channel
6: Search by Time
7: Manual Recording
8: Suggestions
9: Showcases
0: Startup Animation

They used to let TiVo Stop jump to the system menu, but they took that out. I wish they'd make TiVo Play jump to the Music, Photos, & More screen, as has been oft suggested. And of course you already know TiVo TiVo goes to Now Playing.

Thanks Hunter I appreciate the listing! Where did you locate this by the way, as I looked everywhere?

I don't even remember anymore. I printed it on a label and stuck it to the back of my remote back when I first got TiVo.

It should do it without programming.

Are you trying to automate it so that each of those is only a single button press, rather than two button presses?

If so, then yes you would likely have to make some changes to your harmony remote. Macros would work if it supports macros for various buttons. But it seems a tad bit overkill to build a macro for a two button press event.

Also, note that from a few menus these combos won't work correctly.
For example, if used from the TiVoCentrall Menu it will just dump you into Now Playing, and may mess with your Now Playing Menu settings (if you tried to use TiVo + 1 or TiVo + 2).
Or there are a few menus you can't jump out of with the TiVo button, were you are forced to left arrow to exit. And so your macro wouldn't work.

But if you want to set up macros, I'd look at the instructions for your remote to see how to do that.

Sorry, I misunderstood. You want to press one button only. Can't be done with harmony unless you setup a separate activity for each one.
