I live in Atlanta and the local ABC affiliate (who sucks) refuses to carry Jimmy Kimmel Live.
Now that I am a TiVo dork, it occured to me that there must be others who don't get programming they want because of their affiliates' choices.
Q: Do folks trade TiVo'd programming?
Q: Are there legal problems in trading?
Q: Best way/Worst way to do so?
Q: Is someone keeping a 'Wants/Haves' list somewhere?

Q: Do folks trade TiVo'd programming?
Likely, but they (TiVo) and the networks don't want you to.
It is against your TOS to trade .tino originated video
Q: Are there legal problems in trading?
Definately. You aren't legally entitled to originate or receive copyrighted material that the owner doesn't want you to

Check the programming forums, but I think program begging might be forbidden there.

TOS
"Using the TiVoToGo feature, you may transfer content only between TiVo DVRs to home computers on the same network subnet. The TiVoToGo feature is provided solely for personal, non-commercial use. Unauthorized transfers or distribution of copyrighted works outside of your home may constitute an infringement of the rights of copyright holders. TiVo reserves the right to terminate the TiVo service accounts of users who transfer or distribute content in violation of this Agreement - either to an unauthorized device or otherwise."
It does NOT sound like the following scenario violates the Tivo TOS:
1) Dump programing to VHS
2) Lend to another
3) Return VHS to owner

Of course you don't need TTG to transfer to vhs tape. The problem is when you transfer the digial bits to a pc outside of the LOCAL SUBNET. What you want is for someone to give you access to content NOT recorded on your network subnet. THAT is a violation of the tivo TOS and and also talking about it is against the TOS of this forum.
