Hughes DVR HDVR2 Vonage Compatibility

Can anyone help in getting my Huges reciever to work with Vonage? Any help would be appreciated!

With my SD DirecTV Tivo's(HDVR2) I had to use an external modem to make daily calls with Vonage. But with the HD Tivo(HR10-250), its able to make daily calls without the external modem. This can depend on your ISP, router and ATA device. But you should always be able to get the external modem working. Check Weaknees if you need an external modem setup.

If your DVR has already performed its initial Guided Setup, you don't really need a phone connection at all. You'll only miss out on ordering PPV movies with your remote (which you can do at DirecTV's web site instead). You also won't get software updates, but we don't expect anymore of those for these DVRs.

That daily phone call is the primary reason I zipped my Tivo - I hated that nag message. Second reason was to get my station logos back after I did a clear and delete.
