I have forgotten how to install and run TiVowebplus. What I do remember is I type in twp to start it in the command prompt window. It doesn't exist anymore.

I had to use a backup that didn't have twp on it. Where do I get it and how to install. My hard drive failed.

Ok, let me add something here. I get a message stating that the script cannot be done, the last step you do when you reinstall your hard drive back into your TiVo for the zipper program, because the message states this....

Your telnet client is adding extra line feeds, causing this script to fail.

It goes on to tell me to rerun it again using the directions for Windows XP users.

I tried running dos2unix program this way.....

dos2unix tweak.sh

That really screwed it up. What do I do now?
Small footnote....When I ran that command above, it changed from this (tweak.sh) to this (TWEAK.SH). Don't know if it makes a difference.

Since there may be an understanding problem possibly going on here and you may not know what I'm talking about, allow me to start all over again.

Power flickered one day at my house. At the time, everything seemed to be ok. TiVo #1 still had communication with TiVo #2. They saw each other. I still could transfer shows back and forth.

Later on, I decided to use my PC to check out some things on this particular TiVo. Normally, I have to find the address by going into my Windows XP command prompt and type in "telnet" with a possible address I think it might be. I then get my bash prompt, type in "twp" and everything is fine. I go to my browser and do my thing.

Well, not this time. twp is invalid for some reason. The hard drive pauses sometimes on live TV as well as recordings. I totally erase the hard drive, go to my closet and pull out my backup copy and rewrite that image on the drive.

Next, I use the zipper. Everything works great up to the point where I need to run the enhancements. I telnet to the TiVo and run that script. Everything works fine as it downloads its stuff. After that, it tries to install it. That's when I get the error message. It wants me to use the additional directions for Windows XP users.

What is that additional directions and where do I get it? That's what I need. I tried everything else including dos2unix converter. Nothing works. I need the additional directions.

From a command prompt in Windows XP, type this:

telnet<enter>
unset crlf<enter>
o <IP address of tivo>

This should allow you to run tweak.sh. I had to find this the hard way, too. It is covered in the Zipper Wiki (http://www.thewallens.net/Zipperwiki/index.php?title=Main_Page), specifically on
this (http://www.thewallens.net/Zipperwiki/index.php?title=Tips_and_Tricks) page

Gee. Thanks.

I will try this and see what happens. For something like this, it would be a good idea to attach this to the zipper page. I'll get back at'cha.

Now I'm getting a unzip usage screen with all the switches I can use. I used to be able to download the information, now the router address it says is incorrect.

This is TOTALLY screwed up. ABSOLUTELY nothing works. It only wants to run a zip program. Other than changing directories, it does the unzip function even on a ls command as well as the dos2unix command. Where did that come from?

I'm about ready to forget it.

Am I going to have to start all over again?

Tell you what. I'm just going to restore my drive to my backup and start all over again for the 8th time.
