I had Tivo once before and I opened a Tivo account and activated a phone line at my apartment, I normally use my cell as a home phone. It got to be too expensive so I cancelled my phone line and my Tivo service. I noticed that I could still use my Tivo but I had to set it up manually to record by time/date, which was great. Then my hard drive crashed in it so I had to toss it after only having it for 1 year. I have since bought a new Tivo off ebay. I was wondering if there's anyway to use it manually again without setting up Tivo service and activating a phone line???? I can't seem to get around the "initial setup" without it trying to call Tivo. I mainly liked my Tivo for the "repeating recording setup". Unlike a VCR I didn't have to set it to record the same program everyday. That's the only thing I miss.
