HR10-250 is lossing sound and picture for a sec or 2. The wierd thing is it's almost never together. I'll lose the picture for a sec or lose the audio for a second (seems to happen more with audio). I did noticed that 2 of the 4 major NY HD feeds come off the 119 sat (ABC and FOX) and the other two come off the 110 sat. Now I watch more things HD on FOX and ABC so I think it could be an issue with a transpoder on the 119 dish. Does anyone know which transpoder/s to check or why thouse HD channels would have issues? BTW I don't have an OTA hooked up at all, I haven't gotten around to putting one up and the one in the attic doesn't do anything.

Does anyone know what transpoders the HD MPEG2 feeds are on so I can check the signals?

If you tune to a channel and then enter the menu system to check the strength, it should display the transponder that the channel comes from.

Thanks, I'll try that.

Welcome to the HR10 glitch club. I get the same issues. What I find weird is it is the same shows. I can watch Lost or Boston Legal with no issues but Alias is nothing but problems. They are all on ABC now how is that possible? Watching on FOX Prison Break, House and 24 with no issues, but American Idol is lost audio all throughout the show.

At this point I am fed up but don't know what to do. My cable co only offers a SA8300 and FIOS is not available in my area. I have to hope MPEG4 will resolve this non-sense.

Yeah it's weird. The HD programs I've noticed it on are Lost, Invasion, Prison Break and American Idol. All the SD programs are fine. Even the HD Discovery shows like Big are fine. I hopefully will get a chance to check the signal tonight.

The randomness of this problem is what is so frustrating. I generally have most problems with ESPN HD and ABC HD. ESPN HD is absolutely the worst for stuttering and audio glitches for me. Not too many problems with Fox or CBS or HBO. Yet, sometimes the pattern changes and I will have problems with those channels I normally do not have stuttering issues with. Other people seem to have problems with other HD channels more. There seems to be no common thread amongst all these problems. I doubt whether you have a signal or transponder problem. I have spent over a year trying to isolate the problem with no luck. I think it is some weird combination of problems with the HR10-250 having its own stuttering issues, broadcast issues on certain networks and broadcast issues with certain shows and who knows what else.

It is rare that my OTA works for any channel except CBS-NY ch 80. I was able to get FOX-NY ch88 via OTA this past Tue & Wed. The video reception was flawless watching Idol but I got the same audio glitches on the OTA that I get on D*. I kept believing the issue was a D* feed but I agree with Ragsey that it is a random problem with the HR10. Why D* or Tivo cannot fix the issue is the reason they will probably be loosing me as a customer.

I'll glad to know I'm not alone on this issue. All my transpoders where 88% or higher when I checked them last night. Gquiring, I was about to ask if hooking up a OTA would get better result, but I guess not. BTW there isn't a way to turn CC on the HR10? I don't have any audio cables from the HR10 running to the TV and would love to turn on the CC when the receiver desides to lose the audio. If I have to run RCA cables to the TV to use the CC on the TV I will, I just wanted to see if there was a CC option on the HR10.
