So my Series 1 DTivo went through an upgrade last night and now my hacks are gone. No biggie, I'll just pull the disk and put it in my PC and fix it up again, just like several times before. Not this time, can't mount the drive. fdisk says the partition table is empty for that drive. Put the drive back in Tivo and it fires right up and runs no problem. This is a WD1200 drive, and the bios in my PC recognizes the drive just fine, jumpers are set right, etc. What am I doing wrong?

Also remember that mounting s1 drives requires byte-swapping enabled for the device and a linux that groks tivo partitioning (or a tool to revalidate, like tivopart)

Thanks, it seems I really had to make the drive the IDE slave; as master I couldn't access it, but as slave it worked OK with the CDROM as master. Go figure. I've got bigger problems now, though, but I'll put it out on the other thread.
