resolution? how to test?

I'm currently running into a problem with my 'best' recordings. The problem may be related to my tivo's outputs.
Does anyone know how to find the resolution? Thanks in advance.

I've got 2 S2's, wired network, cable box-

I'm thinking my problem might lay with the composit cables running between my cable box and the Tivo. But I could be way off base.

Hmmm ... if you transfer the files to your PC with TiVoToGo, you can check the resulting resolution in your media player of choice, but I'm not sure if TTG "changes" the resolution while it is muxing/transferring.

Do you have Video Smoothing enabled? I believe that changes the recording resolution on the box.
