View Full Version : Process hangs while downloading

Hi-

New to Tivo- Guided setup was fine, but my box was shipped with a 5.4 version software and I've requested (and told I'm getting) a 7.2 version to accompany a usb adaptor I've ordrered. I'm trying to get the upgrade via the phone line, which connects and gets caught in a downloading loop that never finishes. Have tried several times with multiple phone numbers. Got any thoughts?

What do you mean that it never finishes? How much time are you giving it? Downloading new system software over the phone can take many hours.

It can also take more than one phone call.

There was a problem with MASS phone #'s recently.. if your in MASS that could have been the issue.

As others have stated updating the software can take some time and when you say never finishes at what step does it get stuck on. Do you get any error message?

Interesting...I've made at least 3 phone calls, each of which have been 'downloading' for more than an hour. I'll connect over night tonight and see if that does the trick. Thanks for the responses.
