Season Pass not available

I don't understand what is going on.

I had a season pass for channel 250 REAL at 6:30pm on Thursday for American Idol Extra. The last two episodes did not record. I checked the season pass manager and it says there are no upcoming shows. I verified the station ID and show name did not change. I then deleted the season pass.

I tried to add the season pass and it won't allow me to make a season pass for that show. The option is there to select a season pass and when I select it you don't get the normal season pass manager screen. It just allows me to record that one episode.

What devil is going on?

Goofy behavior like this can often be solved by rebooting your Tivo .... disconnect power, wait 30-sec, reconnect power.

I rebooted, same issue. It will not let me make a Season Pass for the show.

Chances are the program guide does not reflect any new or upcoming episodes because we are at that time of the year when programs are ending their season's runs. One of two things could have happened to you.

First, the original season's pass became corrupted (it happens) and a simple reboot could have corrected this after you had deleted the corrupted one. If however, you went to set up the new season's pass and the program is no longer in the program guide, there is no option to set up a season's pass because the guide cannot find the show on the channel you want to record from.

I have had this happen with actor wishlists. As an example, if I tried to set up an actor wishlist for "Lauren Becall" and it just so happened there were no movies in the guide in which she appeared, the TiVo cannot set up an actor wishlist, but rather tries to force a keyword wishlist. Once a Becall movie appears in the guide, the Tivo will accept a Becall actor wishlist.

I suspect you are having a similar problem with your program seasons pass and once you deleted the corrupted one and rebooted, the Tivo cannot find a repeatable episode to which it can attach a seasons pass.

Season passes can only be made for programs that are marked as a series in the guide. The guide data most likely does not have the series bit set.
