recordings stop arbitrarily

So this has happen to me twice now while recording American Idol (I know I shouldn't admit to that.) Anyway the Tivo indicates it's still recording the show but the green progress bar doesn't progress past where it stopped recording. I can't stop the recording but the Tivo will show the recording light in the now playing list. I can back out and watch live tv so I don't get what's happening. Grrr.h

Are these recordings OTA or from the satellite?

No problems here getting AI TiVoed. I have had other programs lately that will miss the first couple of minutes.

Hi had a similar problem...my Tivo was set to record "Boston Legal", but when I came home, I had a message stating that I needed to connect. Anyway, the show was never recorded. How can I get somebody in the community that maybe DID record the show to somehow send it to me. I really need to see this show.
