Hey all, just wondering if anyone else's HR-250 rebooted around 8:58 PM EST? I was watching FOXE at the time (and that happens to be the time House was supposed to start recording). Thanks!

Mine did at about 9:07PM (central time). It was very odd as it rarely reboots.

Mine didn't reboot but it stopped recording around 8:45 pacific time watching Fox (american idol). The light was still on and the Tivo showed a recording light in the now playing list. This happened to be twice now recording Idol. It's irritating.

I actually am really wondering if there was something wrong with the show that might have triggered this (or at least added to it)... I was able to watch some of Idol (though much of it was corrupt), and I think the shutdown did that, but I did notice they kept switching between HD and regular feed, which is very unusual. Then after I rebooted (twice; it locked up the first time), it resumed House just fine. But even during House, they switched back and forth a few times, and towards the end of the episode, the audio got out of sync... So I dunno... There has been speculation that these boxes can be sensitive to errors in the feed. Guess we'll know if this might be if more people experienced issues during the same show... But apparently not everyone did.

I've heard a full clear and delete has resolved these problems for some people, so I'm considering that (though I really hate to permanently lose my channel icons and have to put back in all my season pass info.)

Mark Lopez, were you watching FOX by any chance at the time? Thanks.

My replacement unit does not have these problems but my old one sure did.

Not sure what time last night but when I went to watch the Suns game at 7:30 every channel said CHANNEL NOT AVAILABLE. (OTA and D* Channels)

I think mine rebooted, but I didn't have it on; this morning I have no guide data.

This morning mine had a gray screen on all channels, and gave the message channel not available. I stopped watching last night at 11:30 pm PST.

I went to check the sat strengh, and while I was looking at the strong signal it spontaniously rebooted.

Mine didn't reboot at this time, but it does occasionally reboot on it's own. I know because I've lost the 30 second skip on it.

Last time it rebooted was sometime last week - Tuesday night was when my wife complained that 30 second skip was gone.

Not sure if mine re-booted, but I started to watch TV later in the evening and noticed that I could not get a good 720P or 1080I (over component, my HDMI has never worked) signal to my HDTV. 480I worked, but that sucks.

I haven't had time to check it out too much yet. Could a software upgrade have caused this?

No problems last night at anytime.

Yup, mine rebooted at 8-something CST last night, while watching American Idol. First time I've ever seen a spontaneous reboot.

Seems like most of these spontaneous reboots are happening while watching Fox,
perhaps it is something amiss with their signal that is causing it?

I've never seen a reboot on any of my TiVo's, but I watch no "live" TV whatsoever.

Shouldn't matter whether it's live or not. It was happening as it was recording last night (and I'd begun to watch what was recorded).

And yeah, I'm starting to wonder if signal cues of some sort have something to do with this too. It seems like whenever this happens, at least a few people experience the same thing watching the same show. Perhaps it's coincidence, but I'm doubting that.

I've also noticed whatever show it's recording when it reboots is damaged after it finishes. But subsequent or previously recorded shows appear fine. I had most of Idol on there after the reboot, but if you try to watch it, it kept skipping parts. Probably only half of the time it thought it had was actually there.

What I meant was I'm never home during prime time to see it reboot,
but when watching what I've recorded, I've never experienced missing pieces of shows to make me think it rebooted.

The only FOX programming I care about, and therefore record is 24 and Bones.

My guess...it's all just coincidence. I'm hard pressed to believe that anything 'signal-wise' could cause a spontaneous reboot.

I got the "channels not available" too. I've had it before, I just reboot. I wonder if D* is sending some funky data, or if this is related to the software updates?

Mine spontaneously rebooted about a week ago while watching 24 recorded off my local Austin Fox HD channel. I've never had that happen before (or at least I wasn't watching TV if it's happened in the past:-)

The only reason I'm posting is that someone earlier in the thread mentioned something about the reboots occurring when watching Fox.

I'm pretty sure it can. There was an issue a while back (over a year maybe) where something DirecTV did caused a lot of Tivos to wig out. I think rebooting was one of the symptoms.

Remember there is always 'data' being sent (guide etc). They also have the ability to send software updates via sat, so the unit is always 'monitoring' this data. I'm sure a corrupt or erroneous batch of data can cause all sorts of oddness including a spontaneous reboot.

Oh, and when mine did it, I was not watching FOX, but one of the tuners may have been on it.
