I currently have a SD Tivo in the family room that is zippered and allows for MRV to another SD Tivo in the bedroom (cool feature, must have). I want to get a HD Tivo and also locate it in the family room. I plan on using the TV input selector to change between the SD and HD Tivo when I want to watch HD content. Will I have issues with either remote controlling the other Tivo? If say, the HD Tivo remote controls the SD Tivo, how do I get around this problem? I sure other run two Tivos in the same room.
Thanks!

Check the manual for the feature called "Remote Address". Your TiVos by default will respond to any TiVo remote (address 0: not set), but you can key both the remote and receiver to a particular address (1, 2, 3, ...). Just make sure as you program one TiVo that the other receiver's IR sensor is covered, so it doesn't switch to the same address.

Just a note (and it might be obvious to many but I had this happen more than once):
Each TiVO is susceptible to being reprogrammed from its current remote when its at the System Info screen. I have the first unit on remote address 1 and the second on address 2 and then use a multi-remote for the 2 tivos, TV, stereo, DVD, etc.
I have been checking daily call or guide download info at the System Info screen when either someone or my self accidentally clicks the wrong remote and now "Tivo A" responds to the "Tivo B" remote control. Even worse still if TiVo B is being displayed and changing channels in tandem or (gasp) erasing old shows from the "Now showing" you might not know if no one flips back to the screen for TiVo A. The morale for me has been to switch back to live TV if I'm on that screen and the phone rings or some one in the house calls me into another room.
but when all is well it is really great to have two TiVos on a switch box for the same TV.

If you want to use only one remote Weakness sells a neat one with a switch for only $29 that will operate both DVRs. I have a SD & HD both in same room and it works great!

For what its worth, I like the OFA URC8820. Like you said I have SD and HD in the same room, and it does absolutely everything. I got mine from Circuit City for $18 and it sells online for $23. It controls my SD TV, my Home Theater, HD projector, DVD xbox, VCR, and even can be further expanded if you have something not listed in their instructions. When I asked their tech support about my HD projector I gave them the model number and they had email some codes to type in the remote and it was off flying like a dandy.
On the down side, you have to pick a button for "thumbs up and down" where yours has the actual TiVo button. I picked "sleep" for thumbs down and "Move" fro thumbs up and everyone in my family has been able to remember that so far. Too bad the mute, volume and pause don't work on the family members.
