Hi All --

I have a Tivo Series 2 - TCD140060 made in 8/2002.
Drives: Primary is a Tivo originated Western Digital 60gb
Second drive is a Maxtor DiamondMax Plus 9 80gb.

These drives were instant-caked over a year ago and have worked flawlessly at about 173hours of recording time.

I recently had to relocate for 6 weeks. I unplugged the Tivo and put it in a box (in a dry, undisturbed area..and no.. the box wasn't dropped.) Software was up to date as of that time although I don't recall which version.

Yesterday I hooked everything up. The Tivo will power, the stock fan powers up, but the hard drives don't spin up. Both light are on in front... power is green.. the other light is green/red.

Need opinions as to what the trouble is. Power supply? Drive? Battery?

Thank you in advance.

I had this exact same problem with my 140 series. It was most defiantely a power supply. I bought one off of here http://www.weaknees.com/tivo-power-supply.php and replaced it in less than 10 minutes.

I'm sure this is your problem.

Problem resolved. Power supply for the win!

Imagine my fright when I also accidentally dropped my hard drives! It was a glorious moment when that powering up screen came up :-)

Thanks guys.
