No need for both cable cards if you get a multistream card. Then the TiVo will record from two steams at once.

Assuming your cable company
(a) knows what a multistream card is
(b) has them to rent to you

As difficult as it's been with most cablecos in the last couple years dealing with and provising single stream cards, it's going to be interesting seeing what happens when the Series 3 gets released, since this appears to be the first device where there will be a significant interest in using multistream cards or cablecards in general.
