I currently have D* and a Tivo series 2. I would like to upgrade to HD. My main purpose is watching the NFL Sunday ticket. I live in Palm Desert, CA. Locals are NOT available through D*TV as of today. I have a waiver to receive CBS. NBC/ABC/FOX are not offered.
1. Should I wait for the new HD DVR?
2. What are my options for watching/recording the local HD games that are blacked out on the Sunday ticket? Are local HD channels offered? Will the Directv HD DVR record OTA channels?
3. Is the NFL channel offered in HD?
Thank You!

You can wait for the new DirecTV DVR, if you don't want to record anything this season.

What does the Sunday Ticket have to do with the HD DVR?

You sure? I seem to recall that the HD Games of the Week I came across were on ch. 98 or 99.

Add 95 to the list, I've seen them there too.
I think they place them where they feel...

You'll be lucky to see it before 2007. If, by some super outside chance it comes out in 2006, just check out the R15 forums to see how good the DirecTV SD DVR is. Perhaps after a couple of years the as-yet-non-existant HD one will be able to record reliably.
